Singapore's PM Lee Hsien Loong, via his official Facebook account, announced (30-Jul-2020) the Federal Government and Malaysia's Government "formally agreed to resume the Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link Project" (straitstimes.com, 30-Jul-2020). As previously reported by the Centre for Rail, the proposed USD736 million RTS Link will connect Singapore with Johor, and was postponed after the Malaysian government sought to renegotiate financing options. Under the new agreement, The RTS Link will operate as a standalone light rail transit (LRT) system separate from Singapore's Thomson-East Coast MRT Line (TEL). Further, a new depot will be developed in Wadi Hana, Johor Baru. Construction to commence in Jan-2021.
