US' New York Governor Kathy Hochul requested Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) to "thoroughly examine alternative mass transit solutions" to the proposed USD2.1 billion AirTrain LGA project at New York LaGuardia Airport (Newsday/New York Post, 03/04-Oct-2021). The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is also seeking to halt the project, subject to PANYNJ can provide reason why delays may cause injury by 12-Oct-2021. The project secured FAA approval following an environmental review in Jul-2021, establishing a mass people mover rail link to the airport.
